168 Stairs and Monorail
Artist Connections
The most iconic and steepest section of Ibagu-gil, famous for its 'Running Man' mission.
The 168 Stairs is the most famous and physically challenging landmark of Choryang Ibagu-gil. This incredibly steep staircase, with 168 steps, connects the lower part of the village with the upper parts. Its daunting nature made it a perfect mission location for 'Running Man' episode 329, where the cast and guests had to ascend it, leading to much comedic panting and complaining. For those not up for the challenge, a free monorail now runs alongside the stairs, which was featured by members of Highlight on the travel show 'Battle Trip' as a smart way to enjoy the view without the exertion. The location offers fans a chance to either test their own fitness like the 'Running Man' cast or enjoy the scenic ride like other idols.
